The Singapore Consumer Goods Protection Act 1991 designates the Singapore Standards, Productivity and Innovation Committee as the functional agency for product safety, responsible for licensing and registering products involved in the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Registration Scheme (CPS). Only registered products with the SAFETY logo can be sold in Singapore, and all units responsible for selling regulated goods to consumers in Singapore must register each model with the safety authorities. When registering, a certificate and test report must be used to confirm that this model complies with the mandatory product safety labeling. Currently, Singapore only requires safety, and EMC is only voluntary.
Safety requirements: Under the requirements of IEC standards, products must also comply with tropical conditions testing, and Singapore certification must provide local agents, and the certificate holder is also a local agent. Products can only be sold in Singapore after obtaining PSB.
